Quick answer

  • Saramin (saramin.co.kr) is one of Korea’s biggest job sites. The main site is in Korean only; there is no English version.
  • For foreigners, Saramin runs a separate site, KoMate (komate.saramin.co.kr). It can show listings in English and many other languages, including Vietnamese, Chinese, Nepali, Indonesian, Uzbek, Filipino, Thai and Mongolian.
  • KoMate lets you filter jobs by the visa you hold, required Korean level and “E7 비자 지원” (E-7 visa sponsorship).
  • Use the main Saramin site for the widest choice, with your browser’s translate tool and the Korean terms below. Use KoMate when you need visa filters.
  • Neither site gives you a visa. Check that the job matches your current status, or that the employer will sponsor one, before you apply.

How to use KoMate in English

  1. Open komate.saramin.co.kr and tap the KO button at the top. This opens the language settings. Choose English (or your language) and apply. “번역 전 언어” means the original text.
  2. Open the job list (공고). The filter bar has region (지역), job type (직무), employment type (근무형태), visa you hold (보유한 비자), experience (경력), required language (요구 언어) and E7 비자 지원.
  3. Set your visa. The visa filter lists C-4, D-2, D-4, D-10, E-1 to E-7, F-2, F-4, F-5, F-6, H-1 and H-2. Pick the status you have now.
  4. Read each card. Cards show the deadline (D-20 means 20 days left; “채용시 마감” means it closes once someone is hired), employment type, location, the Korean level needed and the visas the employer accepts. “확인필요” means you need to check the visa condition with the employer.
  5. Create an account and a resume before applying. KoMate also has a resume guide, an AI mock interview and a visa calculator in its menu.
About the Korean level tags: KoMate uses four conversation levels: 원어민 수준 (native level), 비즈니스 회화 (business conversation), 일상 대화 (everyday conversation) and 기초 회화 (basic conversation). Some cards also ask for a TOPIK level. If you are unsure where you stand, see how much Korean you need to work in Korea.

How to search the main Saramin site

The main site has far more jobs, but nothing is in English. These steps make it workable:

  1. Use your browser’s translate feature (Chrome: right-click → Translate to English). Translation is good enough for menus and job titles, but double-check pay and conditions in the original Korean.
  2. Search with Korean keywords in the search box: 외국인 (foreigner), 비자 지원 or E-7 (visa support), 영어 가능 (English speaker), 원어민 (native speaker), 해외영업 (overseas sales), 무역 (trade), or the name of your language, such as 베트남어 (Vietnamese).
  3. Browse by menu: 지역별 (by region), 직업별 (by job type) and 역세권 (by subway line) are under 채용정보 (job information).
  4. Open the full listing, not just the card. Requirements and pay are often in an image, which browser translation cannot read. Use a phone camera translator (such as Papago or Google Lens) for those.

Applying: what to prepare

  • A Korean-style resume. Many employers expect the Korean format, often with a photo. See our Korean resume guide and CV strategy guide.
  • A short self-introduction (자기소개서) that explains your visa status and Korean level up front. It saves the employer from guessing.
  • Your visa details: current status, expiry date, and whether you need sponsorship.
  • Interview preparation: see the Korean job interview guide.
Scam check: a real employer does not ask you to pay for a job, a visa or training before you start, and does not ask for your bank card or passport to “process” an application. If a listing or recruiter does, stop and report it to the site.
