Frequently Asked Quick Questions

❓ Do I need a job offer before applying for E-7? Yes. The E-7 is employer-sponsored — you cannot apply independently. You must have a signed employment contract with a registered Korean company before the application can be submitted.
❓ Can my family come with me on an E-7? Yes. Your spouse and unmarried children under 19 can apply for an F-3 (dependent) visa. F-3 holders cannot work in Korea — if your spouse wants to work, they need their own qualifying visa.
❓ How long can I stay on an E-7? E-7 visas are issued for 1–3 years and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you maintain qualifying employment and your salary continues to meet the minimum threshold at each renewal.
❓ Is Korean language required for the E-7? No Korean language requirement exists for the E-7 application itself. However, Korean language proficiency (measured by TOPIK score) significantly helps when applying for the F-2-7 or F-5 long-term residency visas later.
