Quick answer
- Saramin (saramin.co.kr) is one of Korea’s biggest job sites. The main site is in Korean only; there is no English version.
- For foreigners, Saramin runs a separate site, KoMate (komate.saramin.co.kr). It can show listings in English and many other languages, including Vietnamese, Chinese, Nepali, Indonesian, Uzbek, Filipino, Thai and Mongolian.
- KoMate lets you filter jobs by the visa you hold, required Korean level and “E7 비자 지원” (E-7 visa sponsorship).
- Use the main Saramin site for the widest choice, with your browser’s translate tool and the Korean terms below. Use KoMate when you need visa filters.
- Neither site gives you a visa. Check that the job matches your current status, or that the employer will sponsor one, before you apply.
Saramin or KoMate: which one to use
| Saramin (main site) | KoMate (Saramin’s site for foreigners) | |
|---|---|---|
| Address | saramin.co.kr | komate.saramin.co.kr |
| Language | Korean only | Language setting with English and many Asian languages (machine translation of listings) |
| Number of jobs | Very large; most listings are written for Korean applicants | Smaller; employers posted with foreign applicants in mind |
| Visa filter | No; search by keyword instead | Yes: “보유한 비자” (visa you hold) and “E7 비자 지원” |
| Korean level shown | Sometimes, inside the listing text | On every card: TOPIK level and a conversation level |
| Best for | F-2, F-4, F-5, F-6 holders and fluent Korean speakers who want every option | Job seekers on D-2, D-10, E-7, H-1 and similar statuses, and anyone who needs E-7 sponsorship |
On the Saramin homepage, KoMate is linked from the job menu as “외국인 채용” (foreigner recruitment) and from a banner that reads “외국인 채용은 KoMate”.
How to use KoMate in English
- Open komate.saramin.co.kr and tap the KO button at the top. This opens the language settings. Choose English (or your language) and apply. “번역 전 언어” means the original text.
- Open the job list (공고). The filter bar has region (지역), job type (직무), employment type (근무형태), visa you hold (보유한 비자), experience (경력), required language (요구 언어) and E7 비자 지원.
- Set your visa. The visa filter lists C-4, D-2, D-4, D-10, E-1 to E-7, F-2, F-4, F-5, F-6, H-1 and H-2. Pick the status you have now.
- Read each card. Cards show the deadline (D-20 means 20 days left; “채용시 마감” means it closes once someone is hired), employment type, location, the Korean level needed and the visas the employer accepts. “확인필요” means you need to check the visa condition with the employer.
- Create an account and a resume before applying. KoMate also has a resume guide, an AI mock interview and a visa calculator in its menu.
How to search the main Saramin site
The main site has far more jobs, but nothing is in English. These steps make it workable:
- Use your browser’s translate feature (Chrome: right-click → Translate to English). Translation is good enough for menus and job titles, but double-check pay and conditions in the original Korean.
- Search with Korean keywords in the search box: 외국인 (foreigner), 비자 지원 or E-7 (visa support), 영어 가능 (English speaker), 원어민 (native speaker), 해외영업 (overseas sales), 무역 (trade), or the name of your language, such as 베트남어 (Vietnamese).
- Browse by menu: 지역별 (by region), 직업별 (by job type) and 역세권 (by subway line) are under 채용정보 (job information).
- Open the full listing, not just the card. Requirements and pay are often in an image, which browser translation cannot read. Use a phone camera translator (such as Papago or Google Lens) for those.

Applying: what to prepare
- A Korean-style resume. Many employers expect the Korean format, often with a photo. See our Korean resume guide and CV strategy guide.
- A short self-introduction (자기소개서) that explains your visa status and Korean level up front. It saves the employer from guessing.
- Your visa details: current status, expiry date, and whether you need sponsorship.
- Interview preparation: see the Korean job interview guide.
Visa check before you apply
| Your status | What to check |
|---|---|
| F-2, F-4, F-5, F-6 | You can apply to most listings. F-4 has some limits on simple labour jobs. |
| D-10 (job seeker) | Part-time work and internships follow D-10 rules (see D-10 part-time work and internships); a full-time offer usually means changing to E-7. |
| D-2 (student) | Part-time work only with a permit and within hour limits. |
| Abroad, or needs E-7 | Filter for “E7 비자 지원” and read how to find an E-7 sponsor. |
| H-1 (Working Holiday) | Part-time work within your hour limit; no teaching or tutoring. See the H-1 guide. |
| E-9 | E-9 workers are placed through the Employment Permit System, not job sites. See the E-9 guide. |
Frequently asked questions
Is there an English version of Saramin?
No. The main Saramin site is in Korean only. Saramin’s foreigner site, KoMate (komate.saramin.co.kr), has a language setting that includes English.
What is KoMate?
KoMate is Saramin’s job site for foreign job seekers. It shows each job’s accepted visas and Korean level, and lets you filter by the visa you hold and by E-7 sponsorship.
Can I find E-7 sponsored jobs on Saramin?
On KoMate, use the “E7 비자 지원” filter. On the main Saramin site, search for “E-7” or “비자 지원” and confirm sponsorship with the employer before you apply.
Can I apply from outside Korea?
You can apply, but most employers on Saramin hire people who are already in Korea or who can get a visa through them. Look for E-7 sponsorship and read applying for E-7 from abroad.
Saramin or JobKorea: which is better for foreigners?
Both are large Korean-language sites. Saramin has the dedicated foreigner site KoMate with visa filters. Our job platforms guide compares the main options.
Do I need Korean to get a job through Saramin?
For most listings on the main site, yes. On KoMate, every card shows the Korean level the employer wants, so you can filter for basic or no-Korean jobs.
